Canva AI Review
AI-powered design tools integrated into Canva. Magic Write, Magic Eraser, and AI image generation for everyone.
Our Review
Canva has evolved from a simple design tool into a full creative suite, with AI features integrated at every level. Magic Write for text generation, Magic Eraser for photo editing, and AI image generation make it the most accessible design platform available. After designing 50+ assets (social posts, presentations, logos), we found Canva AI significantly speeds up the creative workflow while maintaining professional quality.
How to Use Canva AI
Getting Started with Canva AI
Sign up at canva.com — the free tier is generous and includes basic AI features. Start with a template from Canva's library (there are 100,000+ options). Try Magic Write by clicking on any text element and selecting "Magic Write" from the toolbar. It can generate headlines, body text, and calls-to-action.
Using Magic Eraser and Magic Edit
Upload any photo to Canva, then use Magic Eraser to remove unwanted objects — simply paint over the area you want removed. Magic Edit goes further: select an area and describe what you want to replace it with. Example: select a plain sky and type "sunset with orange and purple gradients." The AI replaces the area while maintaining the rest of the image.
Brand Kit Setup
For business use, set up your Brand Kit (Pro feature) with your logo, brand colors, and fonts. This ensures all designs stay on-brand automatically. When generating AI images, the tool will prioritize your brand colors. This is invaluable for teams maintaining visual consistency across social media, presentations, and marketing materials.
Content Calendar Workflow
Use Canva's content planner to batch-create social media posts. Generate multiple designs using AI, then schedule them directly from Canva. The "Resize" feature lets you create one design and adapt it to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn formats in seconds.
